Welcome!
We are an Church of England Aided Primary
School with a strong Christian ethos. We have five classes, 148 children and lots of support staff.
We are a successful school with a number of external awards. We have had the
Basic Skills Quality Mark since July 1998 and renewed it again in July 2007.
We are working towards the ICT Mark, which recognises
the use of ICT
across all aspects of the school. The award enables schools to move forward with
the knowledge that they are implementing recognised good practice.
In 2008 we received our Healthy Schools Award. This has four core themes:
Personal, Social, Health and Economic
Education (PHSE), including Sex and Relationship and Drug Education.
Healthy Eating
Physical Activity
Emotional Health & Well-being, including
Bullying
Summer 2009 we gained our 2nd ECO Green Flag
award for recycling and energy conservation.
We also hold the National Activemark for delivery of sport in school.
We have just started to work towards Fairtrade status.
The Marshall Group of Companies is our Patron.
We work with eleven other primary schools in the Bottisham area of
Cambridgeshire under the name of 'Circle Link Schools'.
The school has had three Ofsted Inspections in July 1998, December 2003 and May
2008. All were “good school”, inspections.
We
are a friendly but firm school and believe that children should be encouraged to
behave and therefore create a calm learning ethos / environment. The children
are involved in decision-making through an elected School Council and Year 6 Peer Support. Citizenship and academic / individual
achievement are two areas of development that the governors of the school
are especially keen to promote.
Our Friends of the School (FOS) work very hard to arrange social occasions and fund raising opportunities and provide over £4000.00 a year to fund
additional school facilities and subsidise transport costs for educational visits by up to 50%.
We have close links with our local clergy
from a variety of denominations who visit our local church regularly.
