Teversham Eco School

Teversham School is very proud as our school has the Green Flag Award.

We do lots of activities to achieve this award.

This year we have

ü      Made a log pile to encourage insects

ü      Planted seeds

ü      Put an eco tip on the newsletter each week

ü      Made our own compost – collecting all fruit and vegetable peelings from children and staff lunches

ü      Started recycling plastic bottles as well as paper and glass

ü      Looked at and checked meters

ü      Turned lights off around the school

ü      Encouraged people to turn off computers when not in use with polite notes

ü      Encouraged children not to put extra packaging in packed lunch boxes

ü      Given information out at Eco assemblies and school newsletters

ü   We have created an allotment and planted vegetables and flowers  

ü       We have started recycling ink cartridges and mobile phones   

We are planning

·         Some maintenance on our pond

·         Looking into small wind turbines

·         Reducing what we put in the bin
